(NYSE: NTR), a self-advised residential mortgage finance company organized as a real estate investment trust ("REIT"), announced today the tax treatment of the dividends paid in 2005 on its common stock.
During 2005, taxable dividends for New York Mortgage Trust's common stock were $0.95 per share. The Company's common stock is currently listed under the CUSIP #649604-10-5 and trades under the NYSE ticker symbol NTR. For tax reporting purposes, the 2005 taxable dividend will be classified as follows: $0.81532 as ordinary income and $0.13468 as a return of capital.
